Egypt has initiated the establishment of the (African Liver Patients Association ALPA) through Professor Gamal Sheiha, current President of the Board Members. The idea came from the fact that Egypt is a member of ELPA (European Liver Patients Association) although Egypt is not a European country, but it played a role to coordinate the formation of ELPA in 2006 through the Egyptian Liver Patients Association
