On July 28 of each year, the whole world celebrates World Hepatitis Day. This year's theme is “Hepatitis-free future,” with a strong focus on preventing hepatitis B among mothers and newborns.
It is within this context that that SOS Hepatitis Burkina in collaboration with the Pietro Anigoni Molecular Biology Research Center (CERBA / Labiogene) and the Association of medical students organized, throughout the month of July, a campaign focusing especially on awareness raising and advocacy, but also on screening for hepatitis B and C, and vaccination against hepatitis B.
On July 28 ، we’ve led an awareness-raising caravan across certain public areas (Town hall, Markets and bus stations) in the city of Ouagadougou.

Ø During this campaign, we’ve broadcast announcements on Burkina Info TV, and we were also invited to the Morning Info Show on July 28, on World Hepatitis Day.
Ø We were invited to an interactive broadcasting with Pr SOMBIE Roger on Omega FM radio.
Ø We’ve had an interview with Radio France International in Mandingo.
Ø We’ve used social networks to raise awareness (whatsapp, Facebook)
Ø We’ve distributed over 1000 information sheets.
Ø We’ve printed 4 banners and 50 awareness posters.
We’ve used these channels to reach as many people as possible.
