"The creation of the African Liver Patients’ Association (ALPA) represents a necessary response to the international disinterest regarding the African continent at the first conference of World Hepatitis Alliance, despite the presence of dozens of millions of infected people on its territory, as well as millions of people systematically threatened by the infection, whether because of a lack of access to treatment or ignorance of methods of protection against the infection."
