The Egyptian Association -Egypt Representative- in the ALPA announces the carrying out free of charge of 3751 medical examinations, 413 Fibroscan, 59 hepatic intra-arterial injections, 386 vaccinations against hepatitis B in October 2020
The Egyptian Association of Liver Patients Care -ALPC, member of the African Liver Patients Association -ALPA, chaired by Professor Gamal SHiha, declared signing the carrying out of free medical examination, at the ALPC, including all its branches, and the Egyptian Liver Hospital, for 3751 patients, together with performing 1568 medical tests, 413 Fibroscan, 705 Ultrasounds, 55 X-rays, 330 CT Scan, 14 RV X-rays, and 415 Endoscopic Ultrasounds in October 2020.
Prof. Dr Gamal Shiha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ALPC, explained that different medical procedures were performed: 59 hepatic intra-arterial injections, 51 medical surgeries, including 33 laparoscopic cholecystectomies, 3 colectomies, 11 weight loss surgeries, 1 liver resection surgery, 1 Exploratory laparotomy, 1 surgical repair of hiatal hernia, and 1 abdominal hernia surgery.
Also, 386 persons were vaccinated against hepatitis B, various treatments were provided to 897 patients, and medications were dispensed for 775 patients suffering from chronic liver disease.
